CranioSacral Therapy
The CranioSacral System comprises the bones, membranes, and fluids that protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on technique that enhances the performance of this system. It is effective for acute and chronic conditions, and is suitable for newborns, children, and the elderly.
In a typical CranioSacral Therapy session, a client lies face-up, comfortably clothed on a massage table. The therapist applies light pressure to different areas on the body, monitoring for subtle body rhythms, loosening restrictions in body tissues, and gently encouraging freer movement between spinal and cranial bones. As restrictions in the CranioSacral System are released, the body’s central nervous system works more comfortably, resulting in benefits to all of the body’s major physiological systems.
